Day

You will begin to feel the
effects of altitude as you begin the ascent to Barafu Hut.
Feeling light-headed and breathless are common effects at this
point. It is a slow tough hike up to Barafu hut through
cold alpine desert. Go to bed early today we'll wake you at
midnight for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak – the summit. Overnight:
Barafu Hut (B,L,D) Day
9
At about 1am you set off on
your accent on the steepest and most demanding part of the
mountain. We plan to reach Stella Point by sunrise (About 6
hours) At dawn, from the Crater rim, rugged Mawenzi is a
thrilling sight, with the Kibo saddle still in darkness beneath
you, and the crater's ice-walls looming ahead. After a short
rest we continue to Uhuru Peak (1-2 hours) This is the highest
point in Africa. We will rest and take in the breathtaking
scenery before we begin our decent to Mweka Camp via Barafu Hut.
This is the toughest day that most trekkers have ever
experienced. You will have ascended 3,600feet and descended
7,200 feet in a period of 12-15 hours. Overnight:
Mweka Camp
Day
9 After breakfast we
will descend down to Mweka Gate where you will be met by our
representatives and a vehicle. You will have a welcome lunch
before returning to the hotel for snack, celebration and a warm
bed. Overnight: Parkview Inn (S)

goodbye to Moshi. Transfer to you next destination which might
